Deathstar, and for Star Wars Day I Wish You a Happy One.

Happy May the Fourth, or if prefer you do, Happy Star Wars Day! My regular Monday post consider this, just early for the holiday it is.

(For translation, here you should click)

For this very occasion I saved Deathstar. Staring at it I had been for most of the Month of April as review after review I wrote, for this very sacred nerd holiday into this one I was just waiting to dip. Double nerd points this rosin gets for not only its name, but for the grower and extractor. If know you do, know you do. To the team at Kalikori, a shout out. The pleasure of meeting them I recently had. The friendliest people they are, and some of the best cannabis around they grow and extract.

Before into Deathstar I get, talk about my new dab rig I would like to. A Puffco Proxy for myself I bought back in the Fall. Tried my friend’s Proxy I had, and such a clean hit is provided, plus convenient to use and to clean it was, that needing an upgrade I felt. Need my endorsement I know Puffco does not, and sponsored by Puffco in any way this is not, but nonetheless my endorsement they have. An excellent e-rig the Proxy is (and named ours Proxanne we did). Provides a smooth hit it does, with even the base glass – a Sherlock-style pipe – with which it comes. Easy to load the atomizer chamber is, and with a single button, easy to navigate the multi-temperature settings are. But the aspect of the Proxy most impressive is that modular it is. From glass to glass the rubberized core unit can move, so that the experience you can upgrade without a whole new rig you have to buy. Water bubblers many options are, added to my collection one was. A Ripple I bought, and at how much it improved an already fantastic dab hit, shocked I was. Ice cold water I used, and on an ice pack between dabs it sat (because find our water bottle ice cube tray I could not). More than just Deathstar I have dabbed in my new Ripple (which named Gary we did, after the pet snail of Spongebob Squarepants), and dangerously smooth I can say with confidence it makes the hits. Looking like the Deathstar when firing its planet-destroying primary weapon Gary also ironically does.

My high expectations for Kalikori, Deathstar absolutely met. Common to rosins which high in Myrcene are, hits your nose first that broad citrus tone does. Lemon or orange it is not, just citrus it is. As begins to fade the initial citrus, moves in an earthier and somewhat pungent smell from Deathstar’s parent Sour Diesel  does. From the dissonance between a rich or earthy tone and a bright citrus tone, the diesel or gas aroma in cannabis typically comes. The distinct pungent aroma that both light and heavy feels this contrast gives. Toward a more chemical version of this aroma some diesel or gas strains lean, and toward a more organic version lean some where between the high and low tones of the aroma differentiate you can. The latter Deathstar is.

A beautiful looking rosin it is. A light golden color, and between a buttery and waxy texture is has. Perfect for any kind of dab rig the texture is. Sticky a little and very soft it is. To the spoon it sticks enough to get to the rig, but right off the spoon when it needs to it almost falls.

So very clean and easy the hits were, and while to Proxanne and Gary some credit I give, as well those qualities itself, clear it is that Deathstar has. A creamy texture the vapor has, smooth and buttery both. Almost a direct translation of the aroma the flavor is. As a funky flavor is the pungent aroma better described, the only minor distinction is. Otherwise, carry over well the citrus and diesel notes do. Match this closely a strain’s aroma and flavor rarely does. Very similar they usually are, but more than the average concentrate this one distinctly is.

A feeling of lightness the high produces. Calm at first the head and body feel, and a bit sleepy later on. A happy high with some fuzziness around the edges it is, but if little sips instead of big rips you take, a very heady and stoney high it is. Where really lies its strength this is. Just as its namesake, when not being subtle most effective it is. Warned you are, noticeable dry mouth I had and very thirsty I quickly felt. Otherwise, of complaints I have none. An excellent strain Deathstar is, and fantastic quality this rosin is.

If seeking something with the power to destroy planets, or even whole systems, you are, than this offering from Kalikori no further should you look.
