I’ve said it before, but some strains are named perfectly, and Strawberry Syrup is most definitely among them. To start, as I usually do, with the looks, the nugs are rich in color, both the deep tones of green and the brown-more-than-orange tentrily pistils. The trichomes are dusty rather than sticky, but that seems consistent with the dense nature of the nugs. This is a strain that I would guess based on the eyeball test was an indica, though the genetics imply a sativa-dominant hybrid.
The aroma is enticing. This is where the accurate name comes into play. I must paint a picture, as I do. Imagine you’re in the classiest IHOP you can imagine. No. Classier than that. That. Then, imagine if you will, that the many flavored syrups (I assume IHOP still has flavored syrups; it’s been ages since I’ve been to one) were instead bougie (or “boujee”) local honey. This imaginary strawberry honey would smell like Strawberry Syrup cannabis. Warm, sweet strawberry tones, with a rich honey beneath. The smoke – smooth and easy – tastes less distinct, but still gives a sweet-and-sour floral effect.
The high was delightful, and I would like to try it during the day. It was later in the evening, so I was prone to getting a little sleepy (which I did). But otherwise the head high was a nice hazy/stony gentle euphoria. It was a really nice way to drift off to a restful sleep. Green Fellas cultivated this strain, and I’m quite happy with it.
